9. Pamban bridge India |
The most important part of the Chennai-Rameswaram railway route in Tamil Nadu is the Pamban Bridge, which connects Chennai-Rameswaram, which is located on the Pamban River, to Rameswaram. This railway bridge is more than 2 km long.
Most of the part of this bridge rests on pillars made of concrete. This bridge is only 41 feet above the sea level due to which the train passing over it can get caught in the current. This bridge was opened in 1914 and at that time it used to be the longest sea bridge of India. In December 1964, due to a storm, a train overturned on this route and sank in the sea.

7.Dawlish Railway track Uk |
